About joining the UQ Equestrian Club:

What does your membership get: All Members are invited to participate in all events and sub groups formed by and through the Equestrian Club. These include; clinics with high level coaches, competitions with other members and universities, use of UQ Gatton Arenas on designated days and times, seminars on interesting horse relevant topics and the opportunity to join various showing/judging teams. Members are also fully covered by UQ Sport Insurance at all Equestrian Club events, more details can be provided on request.

Who can join: Everyone!! UQ Staff, UQ Students, UQ Alumni and the Community. Whilst we are unable to provide horses we have riding and non-riding memberships. The Non-riding members are encouraged to fence sit/audit lessons, assist the smooth running of the events and attend industry talks and tours.

How much: $50 for ridden members and $30 for non-ridding members, for a calendar year to join and a ‘nomination fee’ may be asked for some ridden events depending on cost to run. Ridden membership is available for those who want to be a member for a single semester.

When will the club run events: It is our goal to have an event at least once a month and a few informal training days. However please be patient with the committee, we are small, mighty group of dedicated students so sometimes this may not be possible. If you are interested in seeing this goal met feel free to contact the committee with suggestion or to offer assistance

Which disciplines: The club plans to cater to all disciplines and level of riders where practical. There has been great interest in polocrosse and eventing, however message us on Facebook or send an email to make suggestions or attend a meeting. The club will attempt to run an event that the members want, after all that’s our job.
